Wisconsin wingLESS Sprints

Meeting Updates

Here are the updates from the meeting on Monday. Drivers are NOT required to purchase an IRA membership to compete, however it IS required to be point & contingency eligible plus it comes with an excess $100,000 medical insurance policy, so that's $100,000 above what you have personally, and also on top of what the race track carries too. Memberships are $150 but go up April 1st so don't delay. Forms are on our NEW website, http://www.irawinglesssprints.com/ and can also get there at www.wisconsinwingless.com. Checks should be made payable to IRA. Email Kim Tennyson with any questions at tbmotorsports@msn.com We will be updating the rulebook within next week or so, but other than engine and wings it pretty much mirrors the IRA winged rulebook. We will be going to their point system and following their procedures. We plan on qualifying the same way the Mini Sprints have at Wilmot, in groups. To do that, we'll need transponders. They can be ordered if you choose to own your own, or can be rented at pill draw for $10 per night and rented transponders must be returned prior to being paid. Transponders, pouches, and chargers are sold as a unit for $190 +.tax. They can be ordered thru Kim or Steve, best way is via email tbmotorsports@msn.com or siraprez@sbcglobal.net RaceCeiver radios are also mandatory, we run on default channel 454.000 and those can be purchased thru Tiffany at Wilmot, see Wilmot Facebook for directions, or at most speedshops.

On tech side, we heard stories of many teams are paying extra money to various companies to have their 750 carbs tuned. We didn't believe that should be required to make them to run efficiently, so we have been working with Kwik Fuel and they have designed an OPTIONAL carb specifically for us. We did a test on it, and it performed just as we hoped, matching the numbers of a "worked" 750 which was dyno'd just minutes before. We took off the 750 and put this one on it directly out of the box and dyno'd, and it ran great right out of the box. It's more of a 650 base, but these are made just for us, they are stamped IRA, and only available thru IRA with a portion of the price going to your point fund. They have to be purchased thru IRA and they retail for $725 which is suggested retail price. Again this is not mandatory, as these as well as 750's are legal on the 604 or spec engine, but we believe this new 650 designed for us is cost effective because it didn't require any tinkering at all.

A large tire order was placed and tires will be available first week in April, email Steve if you would like to pick any up.
We wanted to update our helmet rule to SA2010 or SA2015 rating, however many mfg are back-ordered on 2015 so we'll push that rule back til next year.

We also discussed the schedule. We will have a series within a series as there will be an overall champion, but also a Wilmot champion as we don't want to penalize anyone that doesn't want to travel outside of Wilmot. The 3 Angell Park races, and potentially Sept 17 & Sept 24 will be overall series point races. The northern trip to compete with UMSS on their turf July 22 at Red Cedar & July 23 at Eagle Valley are optional and NOT point shows. We discussed a POSSIBLE Wilmot date change where the June 18 currently off night at Wilmot MIGHT get added back on. If we do that, we will give you off July 2nd instead, but THAT HAS NOT HAPPENED YET, so as of today June 18 is still off & July 2 still on. We'll keep you posted.

We have a tentative series sponsor and hope to make formal announcement soon. Looking forward to a great year. Remember to put numbers on the right side triangular panel behind roll cage!
